CertRebel offers professional lead abatement training to ensure safety and compliance. Our courses, certified for immediate certification, cover all aspects of lead hazard management, including the effective use of lead check swabs. Gain expertise and start your certified journey today with flexible class options tailored to your needs.

This 4-day course is designed to train Lead Abatement site supervisors on how to oversee lead-based paint abatement activities and the regulatory guidelines for those individuals that will plan and/or oversee lead abatement work. Abatement is the permanent elimination of lead-based paint hazards.

A certified Lead Abatement Supervisor can perform all of the duties that a Lead Worker can, and additionally a Supervisor is responsible for occupant safety during the abatement process and for writing the abatement plan. At least one certified Lead Abatement Supervisor must be assigned to a lead abatement job.

You may begin work immediately after receiving a course completion certificate from CertRebel. This certificate serves as interim certification for six months following completion of training.

This course includes:

  • Where and What Is Lead?

  • Health Effects of Lead Exposure

Steps to Become a Lead Abatement Supervisor: 1. Complete a lead abatement supervisor certification course that is approved for the state in which the lead work will be performed. 2. Submit the necessary paperwork to the EPA or Authorized State program with the appropriate fees. You must complete the EPA's application process online within six months after completing this course - in other words, before the expiration date of your interim certification. Submit your application for certification to EPA within 30 days of completing your initial training course so that you have plenty of time to take the third-party exam and ensure that your application is complete before your interim certification expires. If you do not pass the exam within six months, then your interim certification will expire and you will no longer be able to work. The EPA controls the lead-based paint program for abatement, inspection, and risk assessment activities in the following jurisdictions: Alaska, Arizona, Florida, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, South Carolina, South Dakota, and Wyoming; American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Marianas and Tribal Lands. All other states have EPA-authorized lead-based paint programs.
